Stroke clinic and coaches workshop

Many thanks to you and Ian for the superb workshop and swim sessions. The workshop on energy systems and LTAD was well presented and extremely informative for all the clubs coaches. For all those there that were pool helpers the detail was perhaps a little bit too much for them but the discussions stimulated from the talk have led me to do some very basic work on the systems with them since. This can only help the understanding throughout the club. Ian was extremely professional and the feedback from the kids and the coaches from both clinics was excellent. We have used the drills in sessions since to get used to them and shall use them as part of the clubs strategy in stroke progression.

Thanks very much for the swim skills at ulverston the other evening. Ash my daughter got a lot out of it and i am sure so did all the other swimmers it was nice to see all the kids so focused on one person for the whole session.

Stroke Clinics

Dave Legge has run eight stroke clinics for Bridlington Swimming Club at Leisure World pool. Four of the clinics were for our coaching group and four for the teaching group. They were well prepared, organised and presented in a clear, friendly manner at an appropriate level particularly for our younger swimmers. Dave came early for all sessions and provided useful worksheets for our coaches. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and were really impressed with the senior swimmers Dave brought with him to demonstrate. Racing against a top swimmer was a big thrill. This was not just our swimmers that gained from these sessions. All our coaches said how enjoyable it was and how much they too had gained in teaching methods. It was a very productive experience for our club.

Ryedale Stroke Clinic

Hi Dave, Firstly can I say what a fantastic afternoon everybody at the club had, and by that I mean swimmers, parents, coaches and even the pool staff enjoyed it. I have heard reports of swimmers attending public sessions to practice what they had learned, and at last night's training, all the swimmers were well motivated and ready to practice track starts and wind up takeovers. Everybody was very impressed with Jemma's attitude and sincerely hope she does really well in Bejing. Many thanks to yourself for pitching the clinic at our level, all of the coaching team learned at lot and our two level 1 teachers that help out twice a month felt the session was extremely helpful.

Dave thanks very much for your session last night it was excellent the swimmers and the coaches got a lot out of it as so did my daughter Ashleigh and myself,thanks for the info on her asthma which she has recently been diagnosed with, she has started to do the breathing exercises you suggested. It's good to see a top coach coaching, especially for Ash and myself because the main of Ashleigh's swimming is at home as we have a pool and I coach her myself.
